Rider shot in San Juan, Tabuk City by 4 unidentified men

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A rider who was on his way home was shot by four unidentified men late night of January 13 along the Provincial Road in San Juan.


Based on the report of Tabuk City Police Station, the 37-year-old victim narrated that he was riding his motorcycle and on his way home from Dagupan at around 10:42 PM when he saw four men in Barangay San Juan who were walking towards Bulanao.

One of the men, the victim described as wearing a black hooded jacket and short pants, approached the highway which prompted the victim to maneuver to the inner lane to avoid hitting the person.


However, the said man drew something out from his hips and a gun shot erupted in the area. It was then he felt something hot on his shoulder.

“Actually daytoy ket kasla nga kursunada ta agawid isuna nga agpaBulanao, adda nalabsan na nga uppat, adda nagputok. Kasla ngay nga kinursunadaan da nga putukan. Napagtripan,” said by PLt. Ryan Antonio of Tabuk CPS.


Antonio added that the victim was able to rush himself to Almora General Hospital to seek medical attention.


The victim was not able to recognize the suspects because the area was a bit dark. Meanwhile, Antonio said that the suspects are still at large.

“Haan nga mabirukan idi nagresponde iti pulis kasi adu met iman iti sumrekan dita [nga] banda,” he said.


The police recovered a fired case cartridge of caliber 45 at the crime scene. This shall be forwarded to Kalinga Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for cross matching and ballistic examination.


Meantime, this is the 3rd incident since 2019 that a rider was shot out of nowhere along the San Juan to Appas road in Tabuk.
