Son stabs, hacks father including sibling, over property dispute in Cagayan

Cagayan, Philippines ― For causing a family feud after selling his wife’s land without the knowledge of their children, a 70-year-old man was stabbed and hacked to death on April 26 in Barangay Basi East, Solana.

Solana Deputy Chief of Police PLt Divina Lagua, through Police Regional Office 2 Flash Report, said that based on investigation the suspect, who is the victim’s 48-year-old son, after learning about the sale went to his father’s house to confront him.

This led to a heated argument that ended with the suspect stabbing and hacking his father on his lower abdomen, thigh, and left arm.

His sister who tried to pacify the enraged suspect also became a victim as she also sustained stab wounds on her upper breast and hack wounds on her hip, knee, and right arm including a contusion on her nose.

The two were rushed at St Paul Hospital in Tuguegarao City where the father was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect is now facing charges for parricide.
