Tabuk City, Kalinga – Tabuk City Councilor Jayferson Bon-as has urged the man who allegedly hacked his wife to death to take accountability for his actions and surrender to the authorities.

According to reports, the suspect attacked his wife in Agbannawag on the evening of December 25. Police investigation revealed that the couple had an argument over jealousy, during which the husband hacked his wife. Their child reportedly witnessed the incident.

The husband, who was believed drunk at the time of the attack, immediately fled the crime scene. The victim did not survive the six hacking wounds she sustained on different parts of her body.

In a statement, City Councilor Bon-as called on the suspect to stop hiding and turn himself in to the authorities. He said this would help deliver justice and provide peace of mind to the couple’s child, as well as to the victim’s family and relatives. He also stressed that the suspect cannot run away from the truth or from what he did to his spouse.

“If there is any part of you that still recognizes right from wrong, the only acceptable action now is to surrender and cooperate fully with authorities. Facing the consequences is the minimum step toward accountability. This is not about excuses, blame-shifting, or delay. It is about owning your actions and allowing justice to take its course,” Bon-as emphasized.

As of this writing, the suspect remains the subject of a police manhunt in Kalinga.
