TANUDAN, Kalinga — Children aged 0 to 4 in Tanudan are set to benefit from integrated early education, health, nutrition and child development services with the opening of a newly constructed National Child Development Center (NCDC) in Barangay Banagao, Poblacion.

The Municipality of Tanudan and the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council National Office formally opened the facility through a blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 12.

Built with funding from the ECCD Council, the NCDC conforms to national standards and is equipped with furniture, fixtures, learning materials, storybooks, posters, musical instruments, crafts and other resources for young children.

Municipal Administrator Atty. Novielyn Matnao-Baclili said the center will serve as a resource facility for programs on health, nutrition, early education and social development aimed at addressing the holistic needs of children aged 0 to 4.

She said these services are intended to support the children’s optimum growth and development during their early years.

Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag thanked the ECCD Council National Office for funding the project, saying the facility fulfills the municipality’s goal of providing young children with a quality and modern center for their early development.

Dagadag emphasized that the NCDC is more than a physical structure, as it will serve as a hub for programs addressing the basic learning, health and nutritional needs of young children.

“Daytoy National Child Development Center ket saan laeng a maysa a pasdek wenno estruktura. Daytoy ket maysa a pagadalan, pagay-ayaman, ken pasilidad para kadagiti annak tayo nga agtawen 0–4. The mayor said providing early education and nutrition is crucial to children’s growth and development, particularly during their formative years.

He also assured that the municipal government will maintain the facility and ensure the continued implementation of ECCD programs.

“Kania tayo a nagannak, mannursuro, ken kakailian: daytoy a sentro ket kukua tayo amin. Agkaykaysa tayo a mangaywan ken mangisuro kadagiti annak tayo. Sapay koma ta daytoy NCDC ti agbalin a silaw ti namnama ken rang-ay ti ili tayo para kadagiti sumarsaruno a henerasion,” Dagadag said.

The NCDC is expected to provide Tanudan families with a centralized facility where young children can access services designed to support their early learning, health, nutrition and overall development.
