Tanudan gets National Award for anti-drug drive

Tanudan, Kalinga-The Municipal Government of Tanudan is recognized as 2019 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awardee for its exemplary efforts in complementing the national government’s measures to eradicate the country’s illegal drugs problem.


Tanudan is among the six hundred forty-eight (648) local government units (LGUs) recognized for 2019 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Awards “for their efforts in ensuring drug-free communities” by complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drugs program through their local ADACs.


DILG-Kalinga conferred the award to the Municipal Government for garnering 90 percent (ideal) high functionality points during the conduct of the 2018 ADAC Performance Audit through its DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-159.


Tanudan Administrator Atty. Antonio Basungit, Jr. commended the officials and staff on their efforts in implementing organized local ADAC; conduct of quarterly meetings; allocation of funds; implementation of ADAC plans and programs; support to ADACs in component LGUs; and innovations.


He said that this award shall serve as their motivation to continue the hard work and dedication towards national government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

“Credits to the officials behind the achievement of the award that will be a reminder kanyami, nag-create kayo ti standard a haan kami a bumaba ditan sunga mayat ti effect kadakami under the LGU. Hopefully haan kami a bumaba nu di ket ag-improve pay,” he related.


Per DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2019-208, the 2019 National ADAC Performance Award is given to an LGU with high ADAC functionality scores which have maintained or decreased its drug affectations as reported by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).


The DILG serves as the chairperson of the Anti-Drug Abuse Council-National Audit Team which conducted the national calibration and corroborate the audit results of the ADAC performance audit.


Other members of the team are representatives from the Dangerous Drugs Board, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Philippine National Police, and Caritas Manila as civil society representative.
