Tanudan logs zero fire incidents in Q3 2026; Mayor Dagadag vows continued support to the BFP

TABUK CITY, Kalinga — The Municipality of Tanudan recorded zero fire incidents during the third quarter of 2026, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Tanudan.

Acting Fire Marshal SFO3 Francis Alunday reported the zero fire incidents during the joint meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council and Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council on September 24, 2026.

Alunday said no fire incidents were recorded in the municipality from July to September 2026, unlike during the first quarter when the town recorded fire incidents, including those related to farming activities and structural fires.

“As to fire incident iti tatta nga 3rd quarter ket zero tayo, unlike diay first quarter ta panag-uuma kada kwa ket adda iti fire incidents tayo, adda pay iti structural. Ket tatta ket zero,” Alunday reported.

Meanwhile, the BFP Tanudan responded to several emergencies during the past three months, including three medical emergencies, two road accidents, and one traumatic head injury incident.

The three medical emergencies involved patients from Mabaca who experienced difficulty breathing and dizziness and were transported to hospitals in Tabuk City.

The two road accidents occurred in Dupligan and Taloctoc, while the traumatic head injury incident was reported in Mabaca.

The BFP Tanudan also expressed its appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Tanudan, led by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, for its continued support to the agency.

Alunday said the LGU's assistance, particularly in providing fuel and covering vehicle repair costs, has helped the fire station carry out its daily operations.

In an interview, Mayor Dagadag underscored importance of prevention and lauded the work of the BFP, adding he will continue to give full support to the firefighters in town.

“Ammok nga narigat ti trabaho da, especially on preventing fires. Mas importante diay kaysa diay mang-eddep. Ituloy tayo latta nga agtrabaho ti nasayaat as the Municipal LGU is doing what it can to help even with scarce resources,” said Dagadag.

BFP fire prevention reminders

To help prevent fire incidents, residents are advised not to leave cooking unattended, switch off and unplug electrical appliances when not in use, avoid overloading electrical outlets, and regularly check electrical wiring and connections. Matches, lighters and other flammable materials should also be kept away from children, while any sign of smoke, overheating or electrical malfunction should be addressed immediately and reported to the BFP.
