TABUK CITY, Kalinga — Dr. Rey Aranca, officer-in-charge of the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH), thanked Sen. Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito for his continued support to the hospital during the senator’s third visit to the facility on October 27.

Ejercito visited patients in the hospital wards with Gov. James S. Edduba, checking on their condition and interacting with them.

Aranca acknowledged the senator’s previous assistance to KPH, including his efforts to help source funding for the construction of the Kalinga Children’s Ward and Wellness Center.

During his previous visit in April 2023, Ejercito also inspected the hospital’s operating and delivery rooms and renewed his commitment to supporting improvements in its facilities.

Edduba likewise thanked Ejercito for remembering the people of Kalinga and personally visiting the province to see their situation and needs, particularly in public health and hospital services.

The governor said they discussed further development initiatives and possible assistance to address the health needs of Kalinga residents.

Ejercito was formally adopted as a son of Kalinga on April 21, 2023, and given the name “Fanna,” a revered hero in the province’s Ullalim epic stories, according to Provincial Tourism Officer Lorraine Ngao-i.

The senator’s October 27 visit was part of his Northern Luzon tour to meet local leaders and residents and gain firsthand information on community needs and development priorities.

Ejercito was adopted as son of Kalinga in 2018 where he was given the name ‘Fanna,’ a legendary hero in Kalinga’s epic Ullalim.
