10TH KAPE FESTIVAL: local agri products sold and indigenous games held as Tanudan celebrates 62nd Founding Anniv.

Tanudan, Kalinga – The people of Tanudan displayed and sold their agricultural produce, local crafts as well as showed their fun and competitive spirit during the 10th Kape Festival in Banagao, Poblacion on June 24, 2025.

 

The event started with a Mass attended by the Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag and Vice Mayor Constancio Dalayap along with the barangay officials and the constituents of Tanudan; then it was followed by a formal program graced by guests - OIC Kalinga Agriculturist Nancy Ao-at, Representative from the Office of the Congressman Regie Wacas, and Board Member-elect Camilo Lammawin.

 

Coffee beans produced by farmers in town, meantime, were assessed by one of the coffee graders in the province, Jeffrey Pasikan. Likewise, a demo weaving was also offered by Kinwa Etnika Handicrafts.  

 

For the afternoon events, this year’s booth entries were evaluated by a team of judges. Each booth displayed a variety of agricultural products being cultivated in their community like vegetables, fruits, honey, coffee, rice, among others. There were also local crafts displayed such as ‘bongors’, beads, and textiles.

 

Further, the competitive and fun spirit of the iTanudans were brought out in the duck catching with participants capturing ducks while blindfolded.

 

The Kape Festival celebration ended with the Barangay Night which is an activity dedicated for the celebration of grassroots governance. 

 

Meanwhile, on June 25, the people of Tanudan attended a grand civic parade and enjoyed a cultural day to commemorate the 62nd founding anniversary of the Municipality of Tanudan.
