117 iTinglayan students receive ₱409,500 scholarship aid; Mayor Abay encourages scholars to focus on studies

TINGLAYAN, Kalinga — A total of 117 students in Tinglayan each received ₱3,500 in scholarship assistance from the Municipal Government during a payout held on September 12 in Poblacion, Tinglayan.

The cash assistance is intended to help the student-beneficiaries cover school-related expenses for the second semester.

The scholarship assistance forms part of the local government’s continuing efforts to support the education of young people in the municipality and help ease the financial burden on students and their families.

During the distribution, Mayor Charles Abay encouraged the scholars to remain focused on their studies and persevere despite the challenges they may encounter in completing their education.

He also reminded the students to value and honor the sacrifices of their parents by doing their best in school.

“Ammu mi nga narigat iti aguskwela, ngem nu kasla mabannug kayo gapu kadagiti challenges, panunuten yu dagiti sakripisyo dagiti nagannak yu nga ikarkarigatan da iman iti agtrabaho tapnu mapa-uskwela dakayo,” Abay said.

The mayor added that the municipal government would continue to introduce and sustain programs addressing the needs of the youth, including scholarship assistance.

“This scholarship is the seed. Your hard work is the water. Your character is the sunshine. And your success will be the harvest - not just for you, but for your family and our community,” he said.
