Gonzaga, Cagayan – Two men, ages 42 and 53, were killed while another is in critical condition, following a collision along the national road in Lapogan, Gattaran, on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Involved vehicles were heading in the opposite direction, but upon arriving at the crash site, the pickup was said to have hit the 'kulong-kulong' which was ferrying the victims.

The driver of the pickup named Rowell Agas, 39 claimed the other vehicle encroached his lane.

He added he immediately hit the car’s brake to avoid striking the kulong-kulong, but still hit the front right side of the latter.

With the impact of the crash, two individuals did not survive and were declared dead on arrival at a private hospital near the area.

They were identified as Joseph Paned and Antonio Nicolas.

Another individual identified as Bryan Coloma, 25, is in critical condition and is being treated at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Agas is now in police custody and might be facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
