BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — After a setback in her previous pageant journey, beauty queen Cristeta Longey is getting another chance to compete nationally after being appointed Miss World Philippines–Baguio 2027.

Longey was officially crowned, sashed, and presented to the press at Abong by Rikito’s Restaurant on Saturday, October 10, 2026, marking the start of her journey toward next year’s national pageant.

With family roots in Kalinga, Benguet, and Mountain Province, Longey grew up in Baguio City, where she earned a degree in business administration, majoring in financial management, from Saint Louis University.

Her pageant journey began when she represented Baguio in Miss Fit Philippines 2022. She later represented Tabuk City in Mr. and Ms. Cordillera 2025, where she won the Miss Cordillera Tourism title in July 2025.

In October 2025, she represented Atok in Miss Universe Philippines–Benguet 2026 and emerged as the provincial winner. She also won major special awards, including Best in Evening Gown, Swimsuit, Runway Performance, and Production Number.

Longey was initially expected to represent Benguet at the national pageant. However, on February 8, 2026, she announced her resignation, citing a breakdown of trust and a lack of financial support from the local organizers.

Despite the setback, she is now preparing to pursue her national pageant dream under a new title, representing Baguio in Miss World Philippines 2027.

“As this new chapter begins, I’m grateful to God for this incredible plot twist. Despite the struggles and missed opportunities, this journey reminds me that God’s timing is always perfect,” Longey said.

“This is only the beginning. Together, we will work hard and fight to bring home the crown! Sala-salamat kendakayo amin!” she added.

Beyond pageantry, Longey is also championing causes close to her heart. A survivor of clinical depression, she advocates breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and helping abused and abandoned children.

Her appointment gives her another opportunity to represent Baguio on the national stage while using her platform to promote the causes she supports.
