TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A rescue vehicle of the Balbalan Municipal Local Government Unit was on its way back to Balbalan when it had to turn back toward Tabuk City to rush a road accident victim from Pasil to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, October 13, 2026.

Images posted on social media showed an overturned car along Pingaw–Cagaluan Road in Pasil. The accident is believed to have occurred past 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The driver of the car was rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital by the Balbalan rescue vehicle, which happened to pass by the scene of the incident.

Mayor Almar Malannag told GURU Press Cordillera that their rescue vehicle, driven by Wilbur Cobangbang, was coming from Tabuk City and was on its way to Balbalan when it passed by the area and saw the injured driver.

Without hesitation, the rescue vehicle driver transported the injured victim to the KPH for medical attention when he was asked by the responding teams on site.

Other authorities who attended to the victim include the Doctor to the Barrio in Pasil, RHU Pasil, and BFP Pasil and Lubuagan, among others.

As of this writing, the mayor said he is yet to obtain more information about the incident, as Cobangbang is still at the hospital.
