288 Consuelo, Santa Marcela residents benefit from project PAKKAL

Santa Marcela, Apayao- Some 288 residents of Barangay Consuelo in Santa Marcela benefited from a wide array of frontline services through the Provincial Government of Apayao’s (PGA) Project PAKKAL (Programang Alay sa Kalusugan at Kalakasan para sa lahat) on October 10, 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall and Gymnasium of said barangay.


The project was initiated by the PGA and is under the Provincial Health Office (PHO). The activity in Barangay Consuelo was made possible with the collaboration of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Santa Marcela.


Mayor Evelyn Martinez expressed gratitude to the provincial government and partner agencies for extending their services to the people of Santa Marcela.


The mayor also reminded the residents in Consuelo that while the services provided through Project PAKKAL are valuable interventions, lasting change still depends on the effort of the people to care for their own health and well-being.

Project PAKKAL serves as a nutrition convergence program, designed to bridge the gap in health care, nutrition, and social support reach even in the most geographically isolated barangays within the province.


The services offered encompass a holistic approach to well- being.


For the residents, they benefited from free medical, dental, eye checkups and nutrition counseling. The distribution of essential vitamins and nutrition commodities further augmented the program's impact.


Moreover, the PUroKalusugan Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign, with hygiene kit distribution, empowered individuals with knowledge and resources to maintain optimal health.


Aside from healthcare services, Project PAKKAL extended its reach to address socioeconomic needs, including Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP), PhilSys registration for national ID, seed distribution, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) payout, and the Philhealth Yakap program.


Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Rolly U. Guiang appreciated the initiative, thanking the organizers for making Santa Marcela one of the recipients of the Project PAKKAL program.


The success of Project PAKKAL in Santa Marcela exemplifies the spirit of bayanihan. Project PAKKAL demonstrates the provincial government's dedication to bringing essential programs closer to the people throughout Apayao.
