Tabuk City, Kalinga—Over 3,400 young individuals from the Philippines are currently participating in various activities while connecting to fellow youth around the globe with the ongoing International Youth Fellowship (IYF) World Camp.

Due to the restrictions brought by Covid-19, the IYF has taken this year’s world camp online in order to continue empowering the youth even with the current pandemic. The 5-day event commenced this July 12 in 94 countries in the world.

The event is composed of three sessions a day–morning, afternoon, and evening. The participants were given the opportunities to gain knowledge in various activities, such as mind recreation, mind lectures, guest lectures, classical and cultural performances, and daily video testimony among others.

Meantime, during the world camp's second day this July 13, Rev. Park Ock-soo, the IYF founder, highlighted that the heart is the most important part of everyone’s life which must be used in the right way to create happiness.

“Tuwing nagluluto tayo, nagluluto tayo ng masarap na pagkain, diba? Gano’n din po ang mundo ng puso, pwede tayong magluto ayon sa gusto natin.” he said, his words translated to Filipino.

He added that almost everyone can cook good food, “ngunit ‘yung puso nila ay hindi nila mapasarap, hindi nila mapaganda, hindi nila mapaligaya.”

This, he said, is the reason why they fight, they get angry, they suffer, and they hate.

Moreover, Park stressed that the Bible is the one that most accurately discusses the heart. It is the one that digs deep into the human heart and the one that speaks its world.

He added that he has been teaching the youth in almost all countries about this in order to educate them on how to think deeply and instill in them self-control.

The 5-day International Youth Fellowship World Camp is being aired live on Facebook, IYF International Youth Fellowship Philippines. The event will end on Friday, July 16.
