30-yr.-old man in Tabuk shot in the head; suspect still at large

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A 30-year-old man is now recuperating from his injuries after he was shot on Saturday night, September 14, in Purok 5, Bulanao.

 

The victim who was wounded on the head was identified by the Tabuk City police as a resident of Ballayangon, Pinukpuk. He was rushed by the SWAT team to the hospital after a shooting incident past 10:00 p.m. on Saturday.

 

According to the authorities, duty investigators of the Tabuk City Police Station was alerted of the incident around 11:55 p.m. The team proceeded to the crime scene and inquired at the owner of the resto bar near the shooting place.

 

The owner revealed that they were about to close their establishment around 10:30 p.m. when she heard a motorcycle honking outside. She went to verify what was happening and saw a group of men in a commotion. This prompted her to go back inside the resto bar, and minutes later, there were gunshot sounds echoing outside.

 

The narrative was substantiated by the security guard of a school near the place of incident. He recounted that at the time, he was on the second floor of the building when he heard commotion outside. This soon followed by successive gunfire.

 

The security guard added he later saw a man on board a speeding motorcycle, but lost balance and tumbled on the road. He ran away on foot and left the vehicle.  

 

Investigators, meantime, reported they recovered seven slugs of suspected 9mm and a motorcycle from the crime scene.

 

Further investigation on the incident is ongoing and authorities are still pursuing the suspect.
