56 Tanudan pupils benefit from reigning Miss Kalinga’s gift-giving

Tanudan, Kalinga – Some 56 pupils from three schools in Tanudan received gifts from Miss Kalinga’s gift-giving activity held Thursday, Jan. 05, 2023.

Aiming at making the activity a regular event of Miss Kalinga, the reigning beauty Jollin Lyka Shane Bucalen Dalanao packed love gifts from her own pocket to aid pupils in remote areas of said locality.

Each gift, she said, contains grooming kits and school supplies such as bags, paper pads, pencils, color pens, and slippers. Toys from Tanudan local government led by Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag as well as snacks sponsored by EB Zen OL shop were likewise distributed to pupil-recipients.

It took a 20-minute hike for Lyka and party to reach the 19 kindergartens and Grade 1 students of Liyang Elementary School. From Liyang ES, the team crossed the river and continued hiking to arrive at Cabugao ES where 15 Grades 1 to 6 were waiting.

The team had to walk for 20 minutes more and had to cross a river with knee-deep water to reach Pangol ES where 22 pupils from Grades 1 to 6 were provided gifts.

Aside from the gift-giving, Lyka also entertained the pupils with fun parlor games.

The recipients were all smiles with the initiative that is in time for the promotion of Miss Kalinga 2023.

The reigning Miss Kalinga hopes for her successors to do the same activity to reach and help more youth, especially those in remote places.

Lyka will relinquish her title on February 14 this year.

Application for the search is ongoing. Aspirants may proceed to their respective municipal or city mayor's office for the application form. The document is likewise available at Provincial Health Office, Provincial Human Resource Management Office, Provincial Tourism Office, and Glam Garden Salon in the city.
