6.168-kilometer Banneng-Darulog-Bawac FMR in Tanudan inaugurated


Tanudan, Kalinga – The improved Banneng-Darulog-Bawac farm-to-market road was officially turned over to the community and local government on February 8, 2024.

 

The multi-million-dollar project was inaugurated on the said day in Darulog, Dupligan, where key officials in the province led by Governor James Edduba and the region convened to mark the beginning of the farm-to-market road’s (FMR) official public use.


The 6.168-kilometer infrastructure is worth P146 million, as mentioned by the Kalinga Provincial Information Office.

 

Leading the Tanudan Local Government Unit and representing Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag, Vice Mayor Constancio Dalayap welcomed the guests and thanked the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP) and the provincial LGU for funding the development of the road.


For their part, Dupligan Punong Barangay Moises Rosario committed that he and his fellow barangay officials will maintain and look after the project.

 

“Habang dakami ti mga opisyal ti barangay, aramiden mi ti kabaelan mi nga mangbantay iti daytoy nga kalsada,” he was quoted as saying.

 

So far, Kalinga has hit P1 billion-worth of PRDP investments – P940 million for infrastructure and P22.4 million for enterprises, implementing them with ‘flying colors’ as described by DA-PRDP Project Support Office – North Luzon Deputy Project Director Elma Mananes.

 

Furthermore, Kalinga has earned the fourth-highest portion of the P10.4B PRDP projects for Northern Luzon.
