Tabuk City, Kalinga – Board Member Camilo Lammawin Jr. described the establishment of Kalinga’s first art gallery in Tabuk City as a major milestone for advancing the province’s cultural and tourism sectors. He emphasized that the initiative is a key focus of the committee he leads and aligns with the flagship programs of the current provincial administration.

The art gallery and exhibit officially opened on February 9, 2026, at Aki’s Café Gallery in Bulanao, Tabuk City. It features paintings, sculptures, woven textiles, pottery, mixed media, and installation works by Cordilleran artists.

Lammawin, chair of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Tourism, said the gallery complements the committee’s priorities and supports Governor James Edduba’s LUMIN-AWA Eight-Point Agenda, particularly initiatives to promote tourism and preserve culture.

He stressed that Kalinga has long been recognized for its cultural wealth and creative talent, and the gallery provides local artists with a dedicated space to showcase their works.

“Beyond exhibiting art, this space will inspire the younger generation to appreciate and pursue the arts,” Lammawin said. “With the gallery’s establishment, we significantly boost cultural tourism in the province while honoring Kalinga’s thriving artistic community.”

During the gallery’s opening, he added, “As the chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Committee on Tourism, this is one of our key initiatives, supporting one of the main programs of the present administration. I believe this is a giant step forward for the arts—an area in which we are very rich.”

Lammawin has been active in promoting Kalinga’s cultural heritage and environmental conservation through legislation in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, reinforcing the province’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its creative legacy.
