Architect who sent aid to Banaue, Ifugao dies in tragic car crash


Isabela, Philippines — An architect who sent relief assistance to Banaue, Ifugao died in a car accident while on his way home to Isabela on Saturday, July 9, 2022.


The victim was identified by the police as a certain Lloyd Andrew Erfe, a resident of Cauayan, Isabela.


Cordon Police Station investigator told 98.5 iFM Cauayan that the victim went to Banaue, Ifugao to send aid to the residents who were affected by the flash flood and mudslide on July 6.

The police added that the victim was on his way home on Saturday afternoon when the pickup he was driving allegedly crashed against a 10-wheeler truck in Barangay Caquilingan in Cordon, Isabela.


Authorities said that the pickup was running fast based on the statements of the individuals in the area.


They described that the pickup crashed against the incoming truck driven by Daniel Serrano (59) upon reaching a curve portion of the road in Barangay Caquilingan.

The investigator stated that the victim could have possibly fallen asleep and lost control of the steering wheel which resulted to the collision.


The three passengers of the pickup were rushed to the hospital due to the injuries they sustained.


The driver of the 10-wheeler truck, on the other hand, was brought to the custody of the police.
