Tabuk City, Kalinga – Ikalingas facing crisis situations will continue to avail various forms of aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program is exempted from the election ban.

Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Rose Oyawon informed the public during the PLGU’s Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Kalinga Sports Center.

The exemption ensures that crucial support remains available for iKalingas in need throughout the election period.

The AICS program is a component of the social welfare services offered by the DSWD, aimed at delivering prompt assistance to individuals and families nationwide who are encountering different kinds of emergencies, such as financial, medical, or social challenges.

Although the other social initiatives were included in the election ban to prevent candidates or political organizations from engaging in improper influence or exploitation, the AICS program was excluded because it is considered non-partisan and directly related to public welfare.

As a result, Filipinos, particularly those facing crises, can still obtain essential assistance throughout the election season.

How to avail of the AICS program?

To avail services of the program, just proceed to the provincial DSWD office  located in Purok 4, Bulanao, Tabuk City, bringing the necessary documents.

For medical assistance, the applicant will need to provide a medical certificate, hospital bill, prescription, laboratory requests, and a Barangay Certificate of Indigency.

For burial assistance, requirements include funeral contract, registered death certificate, Barangay Certificate of Indigency, and a valid ID.

The applicant will undergo a screening, interview, and assessment process. Just visit said office for further information.
