Bontoc to use business and government facilities as additional isolation units

Bontoc, Mt. Province – Over fifteen private establishments and government-owned buildings in the capital town are now added to the existing isolation units of Bontoc LGU.

Increasing their isolation units is one of the LGU’s responses to the rise of Covid-19 cases following the mass testing conducted in the municipality.

In a report by Mountain Province Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office, it said the Provincial Local government of Mountain Province, LGU Bontoc and the two private buildings forged a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) regarding said endeavour.

Agreed upon are; PLGU will be paying the rent of the buildings for two months and Bontoc LGU will be in charge of providing 24-hour security to the establishments, conduct disinfection of rooms after being utilized, ensure that solid management is being observed, provide beddings and meals to patients who will be staying at the facility, regular monitoring of patients and ensure that observance of health protocols are practiced.

The establishments identified include the Samoki Valley Inn and Restaurant-Kidlaa building Annex, Igorot Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center, Provincial Legislative Building, Half-way House, Balili Senior Citizen building, Am-ancho building, MPGCHS Senior High Building, a vacant house in Alab Oriente, Alab Proper Day Care Center, vacant residential homes in Bayyo, Bayyo Nursery 1 and 2, Gongon Multipurpose Hall, Tocucan Child Development Center and Sumyaan Center.

Meantime, in a meeting held Monday, February 1, 2021, barangay officials and members of Barangay Health Emergency and Response Teams were reminded by health authorities and local officials regarding their roles and responsibilities on the fight against the virus like the monitoring of Covid-19 patients and their close contacts, information dissemination of health protocols and the implementation of the guidelines formulated by the IATF and local issuances.
