Bulanao Centro imposes 14-day lockdown starting April 18

Tabuk City, Kalinga-In a bid to contain the surge of COVID positive cases, Bulanao Centro imposes 14-day lockdown starting this afternoon of April 18, 2021.


Punong Barangay Cosme Gunnawa, in an interview, explained that he received the order from the Provincial DILG which was supposed to start yesterday, but to give time to inform the public, the full-blast lockdown will start this late afternoon.


Aside from the observance of face shields and face masks and curfew between 8pm-5am, barricades will be installed during the lockdown to minimize the risk of exposure to people going out.

“As usual, barricade- dan tayo ladta dagitoy kankanto ta mai-close tayo then ag-duty dagitoy POSO, police ken tanod iti dagitoy barikada tayo tapnu at least ma-minimize ti rumwar,” says Chairman Gunnawa.


Gunnawa added that aside from foods and necessities, other operations at the public market will be temporarily suspended until further notice, but suggestions, he said, will be heard from the vendors in a meeting today if there will be certain conditions to be undertaken.

Gunnawa is also set to meet with the transport group tomorrow if they would agree to have one passenger each while observing “No plastic barrier, no operation” policy.

He again reminded the residents of other barangays coming to Bulanao Centro to secure certifications from their respective barangay offices.


The barangay recorded 28 active cases as of April 17, 2021.
