Cong. Mangaoang assures commitment to source funds for Kalinga tourism sites

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Office of Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang assured the solon’s continued efforts in sourcing out funds to enhance the tourism potentials of Kalinga through improved accessibility.

Regino Wacas, who represented Mangaoang in the official opening of the Magangab Cave in Balbalan on September 27, reiterated the congressman’s support to the tourism undertakings in the province.

Congratulating the concerned offices for the success of the event, Wacas relayed that the solon has been working for the upgrade of infrastructures such as roads and footpaths leading to tourist destinations through the convergence program of Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Tourism.

With the initiative of Mangaoang, the road going to Uguid Subterranean River (Uguid-Maling Cave) of Balbalan has been funded twice by the tourism department.

For the improvement of travel experience of tourists visiting Magangab Cave, the congressman said he will propose funding for it in the upcoming year’s budget.

Wacas likewise reached out to the representative of the Regional Director of DOT to include the cave development in their budget proposal for next year. The proposal, he added, will then be presented by the congressman in the budget hearing of the tourism committee in the Congress.

Such efforts support the law passed in the 15th Congress, declaring Kalinga as a Tourism Development Area.
