Employees of LGU Tinglayan raised funds to give more help to Cagayan

Tinglayan, Kalinga―To extend their help to the victims of the recent typhoon ‘Ulysses’ in the Province of Cagayan, Employees of Tinglayan Local Government Unit (LGU) led by Mayor Sacrament Gumilab raised funds utilized in purchasing relief goods.


The first wave of relief operation the group carried out consisted of 500 pieces of bottled water, 25 sacks of rice, 2 boxes of canned goods, and clothes which were delivered in Tuguegarao City this November 16.


In an interview with Mayor Sacrament Gumilab, he said the move of the LGU was to convey their empathy to the affected families and oneness since Kalinga province was once part of Region 2.


“Talaga nga helping beyond our borders uray haan ta nga kapinpin ano ta kapwa Filipino met dagitoy nga agkailangan ti tulong, napan kami diay Tugueagarao tapno kasla iaugment tayo metlang dagitoy kakailyan tayo nga taga Kalinga nga tumultulong metlang,” he said.


Moreover, the LGU is planning to deliver another set of relief goods including bottled water, canned goods, sacks of rice, and clothes, this time in the Municipality of Alcala this November 18.


With their aim to send further assistance in the different areas of the province, Gumilab encouraged his constituents to share at least small amount to the families affected by the said typhoon.


“Kadagitoy kakailyan nga taga Kalinga from different municipalities nu adda mabalin nga maited, ited da ngay ta naganas ngay ti rikna nga agited ta dagitoy taga Cagayan ken Isabela agkailangan da nga permi, ket nu sika ti addaan, mayat nu agishare ka ket kailangan iti panangtitinulong ti maysa nga ili tapno makabangon,” he expressed.
