Ex-rebel shot 46-yr.-old farmer in Santiago Isabela, says he just kills bad people

Santiago City, Isabela – A 57-year-old man in Santiago City, Isabela was put behind bars after he shot a 46-year-old farmer on Thursday, September 5, that resulted in the victim’s early demise.

The suspect was identified as Rolando Galicia, a former NPA member and a resident of Cauayan City, Isabela. The victim was identified as Joseph Domingo, a resident of Cordon, Isabela.

A report from the Santiago PNP said that before Domingo's body was found, he had a drinking spree with two fellow farmers near a fishpond in Barangay Abra in said city. The victim’s companions were both 64 years old.

While the three were drinking, the accused, Galicia, joined them. While there, he showed off his 45-caliber gun.

The two elderlies went home after some minutes, leaving Domingo and Galicia. They were unaware of what happened next.

Later that day, Domingo's 53-year-old uncle arrived at the place. There, he saw the lifeless body of his nephew with a gunshot wound to his body.

Police arrested Galicia on the same day, who admitted he shot Domingo with a caliber 45 gun.

The former rebel, when asked by the investigators why he did the heinous crime, said he just wanted to kill bad people and that Domingo was one of them.

The ex-rebel was charged with murder on Friday, September 6, and is now at the custodial facility in Santiago City.
