Cauayan City, Isabela – From being a student who worked overtime just to sustain his studies, Andrew Joseph Aldana is now flying across countries after officially joining Emirates as a cabin crew member.

Aldana, a native of Cauayan City, completed his Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at the University of Perpetual Help System (UPHS) Isabela in 2024, graduating as a Leadership Excellence Awardee.

Even in college, Aldana stood out as a model of leadership and perseverance. According to a story shared by UPHS-Isabela Campus on Facebook, he served as Governor of the College of International Hospitality Management Student Body Organization and later as Public Relations Officer of the Student Supreme Council.

Like many students, Aldana had to work to support his education while balancing academic responsibilities.

“Managing shifts alongside school responsibilities was challenging, but these experiences developed my resilience, discipline, and time management skills. They taught me how to stay focused on my goals despite obstacles,” he wrote.

He was also supported by the Cauayan City Scholarship Program, a financial aid initiative by the local government to help students pursue their dreams.

By fulfilling his aspiration despite hardships, Aldana proved that determination and hard work can overcome any obstacle.

Now wearing the uniform of one of the world’s leading airlines, he not only ensures passengers’ safety and comfort but also carries the pride of his hometown.

Overwhelmed by the messages of congratulations following his entry into Emirates, Aldana expressed hope that his story would inspire other young dreamers.

“Thank you all for the warm congratulations. I hope my story inspires many of you. All glory belongs to God,” he wrote in a recent social media post.
