Pinukpuk, Philippines – An encampment believed to have been previously occupied by a communist terrorist group operating in Kalinga was discovered in Limos, Pinukpuk on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

The 103rd Infantry Battalion (IB) reported that they sent their troops to Sitio Tappo after receiving information from a concerned citizen about this supposed old CTG camp.

Upon arrival at the area, the operating personnel found various war materials hidden by the rebels at their former encampment.

The arms cache includes six pieces of rifle grenades, a piece of Cal .45 pistol, an empty magazine, a claymore mine, two pieces of 40mm cartridges for M203 grenade launcher, keypad phones, commercial radio chargers, and assorted medicines.

It could be recalled that just last month, the 103rd IB also seized CTG-owned high-powered firearms and live ammunition at Sitio Dau, Barangay Balbalan Proper. This was made possible through the tip given by the people in the area.

For his part, the 103rd IB Commander, Lt. Col. Joel Lucas, extended his appreciation for the continuous support and cooperation of the communities in Kalinga in the fight against armed conflict in the country.
