Rizal delegates claim overall victory in 2024 Kalinga Prov’l Athletic Meet

Rizal, Kalinga – From being the first runner-up last year, the Rizal delegation has ascended in the rankings, dominating the recently concluded Kalinga Provincial Athletic Meet.

 

As the host of the sports festival held from January 25 to 28, 2024, the municipality garnered a total of 205 medals across various contested games. According to the final and official results published by the Department of Education Kalinga, Rizal's athletes secured 80 gold medals, 64 silver, and 61 bronze.


Following closely is the Pinukpuk delegation, securing the second position with 67 gold, 71 silver, and 44 bronze medals, while Tanudan claimed the third spot with 49 gold, 26 silver, and 31 bronze.

 

Balbalan secured the fourth position with 36 gold, 38 silver, and 43 bronze medals, followed by Pasil in fifth place with 30 gold, 32 silver, and 22 bronze. Tinglayan placed sixth with 27 gold, 37 silver, and 18 bronze, and Lubuagan claimed the seventh spot with 5 gold, 5 silver, and 10 bronze medals.

 

Winning delegates were honored with medals and trophies during the culminating program of this year’s sports festival at Macutay-Palao National High School on January 28.

 

With the success of the athletic meet, the Provincial Local Government Unit of Kalinga, led by Governor James Edduba, and the DepEd- Kalinga expressed gratitude to all the municipal LGUs in the province that supported the event and their young athletes.
