Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) is conducting gift-giving activities this December and has already accumulated more than ₱60,000 worth of donations from generous iKalingas in support of the initiative. This reflects strong community solidarity and a shared commitment to bringing joy and assistance to patients, especially during the Christmas season.

This was evident in a series of posts by KPH Chief of Hospital Dr. Reynaldo A. Aranca on his personal Facebook account, showing the various donations received from individuals and groups following the hospital’s call for support. The donations came in different forms, including cash, appliances, clothing, food items, and even toys for children.

“Inaramid tayo daytoy tapno marikna met ti pasyentes tayo ah nga Christmas tatta. At least makita da nga uray sagsagabassit, we are doing what we can to do something. Ti pagmayatan na adda dagiti timmultulong to make this happen,” Aranca explained.

Based on Dr. Aranca’s posts, cash donations alone have reached ₱20,000, while food donations—largely contributed by Rose Ann Bullongan—are estimated at around ₱40,000. When other donations such as appliances, including washing machines, electric fans, and refrigerators, are included, the total value of contributions could exceed ₱100,000.

According to Aranca, the overwhelming response from the community demonstrates the compassion and generosity of iKalingas, particularly during the season of giving. He expressed his gratitude to all donors and supporters who made the initiative possible.

“For the past two weeks, I posted on my Facebook account about donors supporting our gift-giving activities. Nakita tayo nga ado ti kayat na nga tumulong. We hope and pray that aside from clothing, toys, and other items, mayroon din sanang mag-donate ng small equipment, medical supplies, and other needs of the hospital. For now, let me extend our sincerest thanks to the donors and supporters of all the KPH activities,” the doctor posted.

While the current donation drive is set to temporarily conclude, Aranca said the hospital remains hopeful that similar initiatives will continue in the future.

“Daytoy activity will temporarily end tomorrow afternoon (5:00 p.m.), but we hope that this will continue and be reactivated after the KPH Christmas Celebration,” he added.

KPH extended its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and those still willing to donate to ensure the success of the activity, emphasizing that the collective effort has brought not only material support but also comfort and hope to patients and their families.

Meanwhile, the first recipients of the gift-giving activity were two newborn patients in the KPH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The newborns received bags containing newborn clothes, diapers, and wipes.
