ISABELA, Philippines — A 38-year-old father in Isabela is facing five counts of qualified rape after he was arrested over allegations that he repeatedly sexually abused his own daughter beginning when she was 12 years old.

The suspect, identified by the Police Regional Office 2 only as alias “Intoy,” a butcher and resident of Tumauini, was arrested in Barangay Malamag West, Tumauini, on August 15, 2026.

Police said Intoy had a warrant of arrest for five counts of qualified rape and was listed as the No. 4 Regional Most Wanted Person in Cagayan Valley.

According to police records, the victim, who was the suspect’s daughter, reported that the alleged abuse occurred from 2021 to 2025.

The first alleged incident occurred on December 6, 2021, when the victim was 12 years old. She reported subsequent incidents in 2022, twice in 2024, and another incident on April 10, 2025.

The alleged abuse came to light after the victim found the courage to tell her mother about the incidents on December 31, 2025. The disclosure led to the filing of a complaint against the accused.

The victim underwent a medical examination on January 12, 2026. The medico-legal examination reportedly noted healed injuries.

Following his arrest, Intoy was brought to the Tumauini Police Station for documentation before being turned over to the court that issued the warrant of arrest.

Other alleged father-daughter rape cases

The arrest comes amid other cases involving men accused of sexually abusing their own daughters in different parts of the country.

Among those arrested earlier this year were a 39-year-old widower accused of raping his 5-year-old daughter in Bukidnon; a 40-year-old truck driver tagged in the alleged rape-slay of his 16-year-old daughter in Bulacan; and a 60-year-old man accused of repeatedly raping his 13-year-old daughter in Negros Occidental.

The accused in the Isabela case remains entitled to due process, and the allegations will ultimately be determined by the courts.
