Laborer kills drinking buddy in Nueva Vizcaya

Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Self-defense was the reason of a 33-year-old man for hacking his drinking buddy to death on May 11 in Nueva Vizcaya.

The incident was believed to have transpired at midnight while the suspect Denver Guloy Francisco, 33, a resident of Sta. Clara, Aritao, and the victim Christopher Guillermo, who was also a resident of the same place, were in the middle of a drinking session.

Initial investigation by the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office revealed that the two were heard by their neighbor arguing until the suspect approached the latter saying he did what he did to protect himself.

“Self-Defense adiay ah inaramid ko, kesa unaan nak, anya ngay garud ket addattan,” the suspect was quoted saying.

The victim was later discovered with a stab wound on his chest and hack wounds on different parts of his body.

The neighbor called the Aritao Municipal Health Office(MHO) for medical intervention on the victim. Unfortunately, Guillermo was pronounced dead on the spot.

Franciso, on the other hand, surrendered himself to the responding operatives. He was treated at the MHO before he was brought to the Aritao Police Station.
