Tabuk City, Kalinga - Kalinga Vice-Governor Dave Odiem, on Friday, August 29, reminded students in the province that education is not only about passing exams or earning high grades but about using what they learn to make a difference in their communities.

Odiem’s reminder came after a total of 349 students in Kalinga received scholarship grants from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) under its Tulong Dunong Program (TDP).

The new batch of TDP beneficiaries, who will be receiving P7,500 in educational aid per semester, were oriented with their duties as scholars and the dos and don'ts on said date at the Kalinga Sports Center.

In his message to the student beneficiaries delivered by his representative, Odiem acknowledged the students’ sacrifices, late-night studies, and the challenges they face in pursuing their dreams.

All that, said Odiem, contribute to creating a meaningful life and future.

He likewise told the scholars that if they feel giving up seems easier than pressing on, their dreams are worthy, they are capable of more than they know, and they are not alone in their journey.

“Study not just to pass but grow. Learn not just to succeed but to make a difference because the world needs your voice, and Kalinga needs your voice. Believe in yourself. You’ve got this! ,” he added.

Concluding his message, the the vice-governor then reminded the students to value their scholarships from the CHED, adding that they are lucky because education aid nowadays are more accessible compared to the time when he was also a student.
