Conner, Apayao – Conner officials are pushing for sustainable economic growth through tourism activities with the discovery of several caves in Barangay Guinagamman, Conner.

The recently uncovered attractions in town include Alsong, Bitinan, Imbakan, Napicawan, Kapatlian, and Pasongan Cave. These six potential destinations offer a crystal-clear underground river, captivating formations, and well-preserved rocks.

To explore possible tourism sites, the local government of Conner, Apayao, conducted a cave validation and assessment activity on April 22 – 25 in hopes of transforming these natural features into enduring eco-friendly developments.

Said four-day activity, according to the Conner Municipal Tourism Office, focused on evaluating the ecological, cultural, and tourism potential of the various caves in Guinagamman.

“This initiative underscores the LGU’s unwavering commitment to environmental conservation while laying the groundwork for responsible tourism development that benefits local communities. By understanding the natural assets of Conner, we move closer to transforming them into sustainable opportunities for future generations,” the office wrote.

The caves, meantime, are not yet open for tourism pending studies and site development.
