Man dies after vehicle plunged into 200-meter ravine in Itogon

Itogon, Benguet – A man was killed when a car ran off a road and plunged 200 feet into a ravine on Sunday, January 22, at Sitio Mambolo, Poblacion, Itogon.

Witnesses said the crash happened while the victim was about to go home from work.


As he was about to turn his vehicle around to get back to where he came from, he lost control of the vehicle, causing his Mitsubishi Pajero to fall off a ravine into a river, police initial investigation revealed.


Notified of the accident, responders from Itogon’s Bureau of Fire, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, PNP, Municipal Health Office, and volunteers proceeded to the area to give aid to the victim.

There, they saw the victim, who was later identified as Julius Dela Cruz, having incurred severe injury.


They ferried the victim to the Itogon District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
