Tabuk City, Kalinga - The business operations of McDonald - Tabuk City are now in full swing after its grand opening on Monday, January 8, 2024.

The construction of the popular fast food chain’s building was completed last December, with its soft opening held on December 22, 2023.

With the restaurant fully operational, it aims not only to satisfy food enthusiasts but also to benefit the province through McDonald’s monthly lease payment of P200,000 to the provincial government, as the restaurant was built on government-owned land.

According to the contract signed by both parties last year, the fast-food chain is committed to paying this amount for 15 years, subject to renewal afterward.

Reportedly, the lease proceeds will be utilized to fund subsidized programs and projects beneficial to the people of Kalinga.

In addition to these benefits, the establishment of the restaurant in the city has created job opportunities and provided livelihoods to locals.

Governor James Edduba, who graced the event, expressed his belief that the presence of the fast food chain is advantageous for the province. He also conveyed his pleasure at the restaurant being fully operational and expressed support for McDonald's Corp.'s future plans for its branch in the province.

During his speech, the governor also shared the provincial government’s intention to establish a 'pasalubong center' near the fast-food chain’s building.

Vice Governor Jocel Baac expressed gratitude for the opportunities that the fast-food chain has brought to the province.
