National most wanted man arrested in Ifugao after 19 years of hiding

Lamut, Ifugao - After almost two decades of hiding, a man wanted for a murder case was arrested on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in Lamut, Ifugao.

 

The suspect, identified as a 41-year-old security guard and a resident of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon, was apprehended by the Haggiyo cops of the Ifugao Police Provincial Office during an operation in Barangay Poblacion West, Lamut.

 

He was listed as a National Most Wanted Person with a reward covered by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular 2009-29.


In a press release, the Police Regional Office - Cordillera stated that the suspect went into hiding when Judge Romeo Habbiling of Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Lagawe, Ifugao, issued a warrant for his arrest on August 14, 2013.

 

The crime was committed on March 9, 2005, in Lamut, wherein the suspect shot the victim, causing his instantaneous death.

 

After documentation, the suspect was turned over by Lamut MPS to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Ifugao District Jail for proper disposition.

 

PRO - Cordillera said that the successful apprehension of the suspect is a result of their continuous conduct of extensive manhunt operations.
