Updated: Oct 3, 2022

Baguio City, Philippines – The Bureau of Fire and Protection – Baguio already moved to their new office at Purok 11, Apugan of Irisan on September 28, 2022 as their old office will be transformed into a parking lot building.

Engineer Bonifacio Dela Peña, the City Administrator-Baguio City, relayed through Regional News Group-Luzon that the 400 million parking building will be set up at the said area.

BFP-Baguio office is considered as an ideal location for parking spaces in the city as it is close to the central business district.

Dela Peña added that the area is a good site for the public to park their vehicles where they no longer need to leave their vehicles at the city hall and other places near the market which cause congestion and traffic in the city.

“Yung area kasi na yun ang patatayuan natin, malapit na nating matapos ang plano for the parking building ng city, 400 million na budget wherein itatayo na yung parking lot, para wala po pumaparada rito sa city hall,” he expressed.

The City Administrator assured they provided allotment for a fire truck in the new parking lot, emphasizing the advantage of the location for immediate response in case of fire.

“Matapos man ang parking building doon meron paring allotment doon ng ating mga fire trucks kasi very strategic yung location nay un for responses,” he added.

BFP-Baguio of Camp Allen built a reputation for its resilience and quick responses to fire incidents and other disasters. It is said that their advantage in responding immediately is their geographic location, they reach any site in 7 minutes.

“Very advantageous po itong pagresponde natin kasi nandito po tayo sa within the central business area, siyempre ang una nating pinoprotektahan po talaga itong mga within hazard area natin, itong public market, business area, itong Session Road, Harizon road. Yung mga facilities natin, itong government building natin,” FSUPT. Nestor Gorio - City Fire Director.

Despite the new location, BFP-Baguio affirmed they will continue to perform their responsibilities and maintain their efficiency and immediacy of response to incidents.
