“Over 1,500 children ages 0-4 in Kalinga are now Philsys-registered” – PSA Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – A total of 1,505 children in Kalinga Province ages 0-4 are already registered in the government’s national identification system as of April 16, according to Philippine Statistics Authority – Kalinga.

The move to register all age groups ensures that every Filipino, regardless of age, are recognized and included in the national data base.

The registration of these youngsters allows them to receive a physical ID or an electronic ID that would eventually enable them to get the benefits they are entitled of even at a very young age.

According to the agency, the registration process for said age bracket commenced on February 15.

With the support of parents and guardians, who assisted their children in the process, the endeavor has so far had a high turnout.

For children to be allowed to register, parents who have already registered for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) should accompany them as it is mandated that the Philsys number of the child is linked to their parents’ Philsys number. Additionally, the full name of the child’s parents or guardian and his card number shall be utilized in the registration.

However, only the demographic information of the child and his front-facing picture will be collected. The biometric information will only be captured once they reach the age of five.

Documentary requirements

When registering, the guardian of the child needs to bring with them original copy of any of these documents – Certificate of Live Birth issued by the PSA or Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), Report of Birth issued by the PSA or Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP), Certificate of Foundling issued by the PSA, Certificate of Foundling or Certificate of Live Birth of Person with No Known Parent/s issued by the PSA, Municipal Form No. 102or a Philippine Passport or ePassport issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

If none of these documents are available, PSA Kalinga said they would accept alternative documents provided that the full name of the child, date and place of birth, name of the mother, and full name of the father is indicated on it.
