La Trinidad, Benguet - Farmers in the Cordillera region sold over P9.3 million worth of their agricultural goods from January to June 2025 through the KADIWA Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

In its report on June 24, DA-Cordillera said a total of P9,318,391 in sales was recorded during the first half of 2025.

These sales came from various commodities, including lowland and highland vegetables, fruits, rice, eggs, and processed products produced by the farmers across the region.

A total of 130,922 kilograms of agricultural produce were sold through the KADIWA modalities. The largest volume came from rice, with 81,425 kilos sold, followed by assorted vegetables totaling 22,651 kilos.

KADIWA, or the “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita,” continues to serve as a direct marketing platform that connects farmers and fisherfolk cooperatives and associations (FCAs) to consumers.

The program aims to eliminate middlemen and provide affordable agri-fishery products to the public while ensuring higher income for producers.

DA-CAR, in collaboration with local government units (LGUs) and national line agencies, vows to continue its support and implementation of the KADIWA program to further help the farmers earn more income and provide the public budget-friendly food.
