Tanudan, Kalinga―P152.3 million worth of improvement of the Banneng-Darulog-Bawac farm-to-market road in Tanudan has been approved for the first phase by the Regional Project Advisory Board (RPAB) members of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

The said project will cover 6.168 kilometers farm-to market-road with an estimated cost of PhP152,385,000.

Provincial Local Government Unit of Kalinga headed by Governor Ferdinand Tubban through the Office of the Provincial Agricultural Services led by PA Engr. Domingo Bakilan, Provincial Engineering Office, and Provincial Planning and Development Office presented the proposal this November 24 at the Ecolodge Hotel, Baguio City.

Fortunately, said technical working group successfully defended it before the RPAB panel which will be endorsed to the National Project Coordinating Office then to the Project Support Office for technical evaluation as to its economic viability and if environmentally and socially compliant.

Tanudan Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag shared in an interview that they have long-desired to have the said municipal road improved and developed for the benefits of the constituents especially those farmers.

“Dakkel ah dayta nga maitulong ti umili, karkaru dagita farmers ta nu agtudo ngay ket marigatan da nga mangibyahe ti produkto da nga mais, kape, ken daduma pay. Nagmayat ta napansin met,” he uttered.

While said project has been approved for its first phase, its full approval may take until April of 2021 to get the final nod of World Bank for its funding.
