P4.13M trading center turned over to Benguet coffee producers

La Trinidad, Benguet― With the turn-over of the newly built P4.13 million Coffee Trading Center for the Proponent Groups (PGs) of Benguet Arabica Coffee Enterprises (BACE), the marketing quality, production and trading of Arabica Coffee that will benefit the province and its region are expected to further improve.


The turn over ceremony was done alongside the inauguration of the trading center this July 9, 2021, led by Governor Melchor Diclas with the Department of Agriculture-CAR (DA-CAR) and Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) North Luzon.


According to Benguet Governor’s Office, the establishment of the trading center which was completed last December 2020 was made possible thru the Department of Agriculture’s Philippine Rural Development Project (DA-PRDP).

The trading center and its use


The trading center is a single-storey building with a roof deck, restrooms, and five other rooms including rooms for storage, sorting receiving, and an office cashier that will be the key consolidation service.


Trading of products shall be made accessible and better, which is expected to contribute to the profit of the coffee growers and the growth of the coffee industry in the area.


Representatives from the PGs of the enterprise, with Kibungan Arabica Coffee Growers Multipurpose Cooperative (KACGMPC) as the lead PG, accepted the facility and committed to use it for its purpose.

KCGMP Board of Director Martes Aludos promised to use the trading center for its purpose, foreseeing that it will push their comrades to work harder, “In behalf of the BACE (PGs) i-commit mi nga usaren mi daytuy iti purpose na ta isu pay gumagagetan ti kakdwa tayo nga farmers nga ag produce ti kape.” Earlier, two trucks were given to the PGs including 75 units of coffee pulper, 350 pcs hermetic bags, 16 units of fabricated elevated solar dryer, and other coffee-making materials.
