‘Para kadakayo nga annak dagitoy’ – Balbalan Mayor Malannag on initiating events that provide avenues for the youth to shine

Balbalan, Kalinga – In every activity initiated by the Balbalan Municipal Local Government Unit, Mayor Almar Malannag said it is always his priority to provide an avenue for the youth to participate and showcase their talents—just like in the recently held Lighting Ceremony in Balbalan.

This reflects Mayor Malannag’s belief and long-time emphasis that one of his administration’s focuses is the youth, as they are the future and the next generation of leaders who will guide the municipality toward further progress.

During his message at the 2025 “Padalang” of the Christmas Village at the Municipal Compound on December 1, Malannag shared that the event was not only meant to illuminate a place where families can visit and bond this December, but also to give the students in town another platform to express their talents and creativity. This is why the event included contested activities joined by elementary and high school students, along with fun-filled activities that brought joy to the children.

“Dagitoy activities tayo ket para iti buo nga Balbalan, nangnangruna kadakayo nga aannak – elementary man, high school or college. Dagitoy us-usaren tayo ket buwis iti tao, buwis iti nagannak yu, ta kayat mi nga naragsak kayo ken makita yu nu kasano iti panangipateg iti LGU ken entero nga Balbalan kadakayo ta dakayo iti sumaruno kadakami nga mangituloy iti pagsayaatan iti ili tayo,” he addressed the crowd.

The local chief executive also took time during his message to acknowledge the efforts of the Balbalan LGU and personnel of national line agencies who conceptualized and designed this year’s Christmas Village. This collective effort, he added, showed that greater things can be achieved when everyone works together.

“Kadatayo amin ditoy ili nga Balbalan – job orders ko, finance committee, head of offices, ken amin-amin nga tinmulong ditoy, awan sabali nga makunak nu saan nga thank you. Ken daytoy garud, impadas tayo – nakitayo, lalakay man, ubbing, ken empleyado tayo, nakita yo amin nga mabalin gayam nu pagmamaysaan tayo,” he said.
