Pasil, Kalinga – Around 50 volunteer responders from the municipality have undergone a two-day enhancement training in disaster preparedness and response to lessen the impact of disasters in the locality, especially among the vulnerable sector.

Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Council Chair, Mayor Alfredo Malannag Jr., underscored that acquisition and application of knowledge, attitude, and skills (KAS) play a vital role in preventing, if not reducing, the effects of disasters in communities.

Malannag said that Pasil, based on the terrain and physical characteristics, is a high risk to disasters like landslides and accidents, thus preparedness is vital to reduce the effects of disasters and effectively respond to cope with the possible consequences.
