Tabuk City, Kalinga – During their 35th brigade anniversary, the Philippine Army’s 503rd Infantry Brigade encamped in Kalinga Province marked their celebration with the giving of awards and merits to soldiers for their valuable services during the Typhoon Ulysses and for their huge contributions to the performance of the unit.

Captain Rogelio Agustin Jr., 503rd Information Officer said that because of the pandemic, the celebration was made simple and the awarding was not grand. Nevertheless, the gathering and recognition was done to show that every work and sacrifice is acknowledged.

He added that this is different from their previous anniversary where they usually have a week-long celebration with various activities such as games and outreach programs to commemorate the event.

“Nung hindi pa pandemic, nagpre-prepare kami diyan ng one week. Nagkakaroon kami ng one week activity. So nagkakaroon kami ng mga games ganyan, outreach meron din kaming ganyan na hinahanda. Ngayon wala tayong salo-salo kasi limited lang ang movement,” he said.

Agustin related that 12 plaque of recognition and 2 military merit medals have been awarded by Colonel Santiago Enginco to deserving personnel.

Agustin assured that the 503rd Brigade continuously perform their duty in serving the country and the province despite the restrictions and challenges of the pandemic.
