Rizal, Kalinga – A motorcycle reported having been stolen almost four years ago in Isabela was recently recovered by the Rizal police and was returned to its owner this January 14.

Rizal Municipal Police Station Acting Chief of Police, Police Captain Rufino Manganip mentioned that an unattended black Honda XRM motorcycle was discovered by a concerned citizen at the right-side shoulder of the Cagayan – Kalinga national road in Sitio Alibangbang, Liwan West in the afternoon of January 11.

Said motorcycle was hidden at a banana plantation, with no licensed plate and its chassis number erased.

With the motorcycle being suspicious, the concerned citizen reported the motorcycle to Punong Barangay Obdula Antonio, who then called the police.

Through coordination with the Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office, and Delfin Albano Police Station, the owner of the motorcycle was identified as a farmer from Delfin Albano, Isabela whose motorcycle was stolen in 2018.

On January 14, the identified Honda XRM motorcycle was turned over to its owner after almost four years after it was reported stolen.

Manganip expressed that the immediate reporting and the recovery of the carnapped vehicle are attributed to the revitalized campaign against carnapping where the police in Rizal continuously engage with the barangays to inform the constituents to surrender or report to the authorities motorcycles without legal documents.
