New Kalinga police director to focus on ensuring orderly and peaceful elections

Tabuk City, Kalinga –Newly installed Kalinga Police Provincial Director, Police Colonel Peter Tagtag Jr. committed to making sure that the 2022 national and local elections are orderly and peaceful in the province.


Tagtag received the command of Kalinga Police Provincial Office from Police Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong this January 14 in a turn-over ceremony held at Camp Captain Juan M Duyan.


As he assumed post as police provincial director, Tagtag expressed that under his leadership, KPPO will focus its efforts on ensuring a peaceful and orderly election.


In this election period, he added, that among the challenges on the part of the police is to sustain their participation in pursuit of a Covid-19 free community.

Meantime, Tagtag also mentioned that KPPO’s relentless campaign against criminality, illegal drugs, and terrorism will continue and that under his leadership, the protection of the environment and natural resources will be intensified.


To make sure the success of said plans, the new police director mentioned they are going to sustain a periodic strategy review in determining if they are on the right direction in attaining their objectives and to evaluate if their programs and plans are responding to the problems in the community.

‘We will not tolerate the corrupt and [we’ll] reward the deserving ones’


Tagtag said he is not going to tolerate corrupt police and that deserving personnel will surely be rewarded.


“We will further enhance the trust and confidence of the people. Let us show that every member of our police force is respected and disciplined,” he said.


Tagtag then encouraged every police in Kalinga to renew their burning passion to work, “let us bear in mind that we will be a police officer once, so we must do it right and be mindful that in everything we do, we put God first.”

The new police director concluded his message by appealing to the people of Kalinga to continuously work and cooperate with the police as partners in achieving a peaceful and progressive province.


Tagtag is the former Chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division at the Police Regional Office Cordillera.
