Six-yr.-old boy found alive after missing for three days dies from dehydration

Baguio City, Philippines – The 6-year-old boy who was found alive after missing for a number of days later succumbed to dehydration which he endured while he was out in the woods.

The boy passed away on Friday morning, October 3.

Jarren Dabaras, who was described to have Autism level 3, was reported missing around midnight of September 29. Various teams from the government and community volunteers were deployed to look for him, and after a 3-day search in Atok Trail, he was found covered in mud and lying weakly on a rock near the river around 10:00 a.m. on October 2.

He was immediately taken to the hospital and was reunited with his family.

However, in spite of efforts to save him, his frail body did not survive the weakness and dehydration he endured while he was out missing for three days and passed away today.

The family members including Barangay Atok Trail earlier conveyed their appreciation to the search and rescue teams and volunteers who tirelessly looked for the boy.
