Tanudan Day celebration kicks off with Mayor’s Cup

Tanudan, Kalinga – Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag officially tossed the ball for this year’s Mayor’s Cup in Tanudan on Saturday, May 18 marking the beginning of the town’s most anticipated celebration.

 

The event did not just signify the start of the second season of the said sports activity in the municipality, but also the commencement of the 61st Tanudan Day and 9th Kape Festival celebration.


Highlighting the event are two ball games, volleyball and basketball, where various teams representing the 16 barangays of Tanudan were categorized into two, brackets A and B.

 

For volleyball men and women, bracket A include Mabaca, Poblacion, Lubo 2, Lay-asan, Anggacan Sur, Anggacan, Local Government Unit team, and Lower Taloctoc; while bracket B are Dacalan, Mangali Centro, Lubo 1, Upper Taloctoc, Lower Mangali, Dupligan, Ga-ang, and Pangol.

 

As for basketball, braket A are Lower Mangali, Dupligan, Anggacan, Taloctoc, Poblacion, Ga-ang, Mangali Centro, and LGU; while bracket B include Lay-asan, Mabaca, Lubo 1, Lubo 2, Dacalan, Philippine National Police, Anggacan Sur, and Pangol.

 

These teams will be competing in their respective brackets every Saturday and Sunday until June 26 where the best teams will be facing off to determine the 2024 Mayor Cup’s champions for volleyball and basketball.

 

The first day of the event this May 18 was graced by the Tanudan officials and employees headed by Mayor Dagadag and Vice Mayor Constancio Dalayap, national line agencies, and Kalinga Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President, Rasha Campilis who was the guest speaker.
