Tanudan gets P.5M for 2nd largest participants in ‘Awong Chi Gangsa Agtu’n Chi Banga’

Tanudan, Kalinga – A half million incentive was given to the Municipality of Tanudan for having the second largest participants in the record-breaking ‘Awong Chi Gangsa Agtu’n Chi Banga’ last February 15, 2023.

As Kalinga vied to break a Guinness World Records two months ago, around 1,400 yTanudans came to Tabuk City to make this possible. The performers from the town braved the rain together with Vice Mayor Constancio Dalayap, Councilor Santos Dumalleg, Councilor Helen Gacadan, Councilor Rizalin Laurentino, ABC President Johnny Liddawa, and the different barangay officials.

Said number contributed to the 3,440 gong players and 4,681 banga dancers who performed in the 4th Bodong Festival, making Kalinga get the ‘Largest Gong Ensemble’ and ‘Largest Banga Dance’ records.

Mayor Jaedicke Rhoss Dagadag received two P250,000 checks for the second-highest number of gong players and banga dancers during the monthly Kapehan of the Tanudan Local Government Unit held on April 11 at Banagao, Poblacion.

Dagadag, in a statement, conveyed his gratitude to the Provincial LGU led by Governor James Edduba for the award. He also once again expressed his appreciation to the people of Tanudan for giving their time to participate in the ‘Awong Chi Gangsa Agtu’n Chi Banga’.

“Daytoy iti pakakitaan nga magun-ud tayu amin basta agkaykaysa iti umili. Ket dakkel nga pagyamanan tayo kadagiti taga Kalinga karkaru dagiti nakisali nga taga Tanudan ta inan-anusan da nga nagtatakder ken natudtudwan tapnu lang maala tayo daytoy nga world record tayo,” he said.
