Tanudan MHO calls for donors to help save lives on Jan. 27 bloodletting drive

Tanudan, Kalinga – The Municipal Health Office of Tanudan is calling for healthy individuals to save lives by donating blood on Saturday, January 27, in Bulanao, Tabuk City.

According to the World Health Organization, a single unit of blood can save up to three lives.

With people needing blood at any time, the MHO, in partnership with the Cagayan Valley Medical Center and the Dakaran Credit Cooperative, will be holding a mobile blood donation drive at the said cooperative in Purok 5, Bulanao.

Feth Bagyon Bangngagan, Blood Program Coordinator of MHO, said that the activity aims to store adequate blood for patients in need from Tanudan. The blood collected will be stored at CVMC under the Local Government Unit of Tanudan’s name and will be available for Tanudans.

Bangngagan mentioned that people who can donate are aged 18 to 60, weigh at least 50 kilograms, and are generally healthy.

The Tanudan LGU and Tanudan MHO, in the meantime, have been recently cited by the Philippines Red Cross for their sustained and unwavering support to the agency and for their partnership with the agency’s blood service program through mobile blood donation.
